Develop and check Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), from preliminary drawings to issue for construction.Knowledgeable in alarm and trip setpoint rationale and process safety time calculations.Develop process engineering deliverables such as BFDs, PFDs, H&MBs, Equipment Datasheets, Utility Summaries and other process deliverables required for the facility design.Proficient in the process design of equipment, including vessels, columns, heat exchangers and package process specifications for equipment and control valves.Develop relief load narratives, relief load calculations and relief valve datasheets. Conversant in relief calculation methodologies and industry codes and standards applicable to pressure relief design.

Uses 3D model software such as SmartPlant Review or PDSView in order to review the physical design of a plant. Uses specialized engineering hydraulic programs such as Flarenet, Pipeflo, PIPENET, VMGSim, etc to interpret or complete calculations. Demonstrated experience in process simulation and automation preferred. Knowledgeable of and performs standard discipline engineering activities on projects with minimal technical oversight. Takes the initiative to coordinate the design development with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting schedule due dates. Prepares, coordinates, and reviews designs, studies, reports and proposals. Executes process deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilising approved engineering procedures, practices, and codes and standards. Simulation experience is highly desirable and experience in multiple software (Hysys, Pro II, Unisim, Promax) will be an advantage. Their previous experience will mean that they are familiar with standard process deliverables such as design basis, H&MB, PFDs, process descriptions, P&IDs etc and would be comfortable both originating as well as approving these documents. The engineer should have a proven track record and will be recognised for their understanding of the key process concepts as well as having a good understanding of developing technical / market trends and client requirements. The engineer would be required to utilise their significant knowledge in all areas of design from conceptual studies to detailed engineering.
